Chelsea sign Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk

22-year-old Mykhailo Mudryk, the midfielder of Shakhtar and the national team of Ukraine, signed a contract with London-based Chelsea. This is reported on the club’s official website.

Mudrik’s contract with Chelsea is a long-term contract for seven years. The transfer cost the English club £89 million ($109 million).

After several months, Mudrik’s future is finally set and the player will travel to London. But suddenly the player moves to Chelsea, not Arsenal.

Arsenal’s interest in Mudrik became evident in the summer of 2022, but despite strong interest and even reportedly agreeing on personal terms on the transfer deadline day, the move did not come to fruition.

As expected, Arsenal will return for the 22-year-old in January. The team made several offers to Shakhtar, but the club from Ukraine refused. As a result, the player moves to Chelsea.

“I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea,’ Mudryk said after completing his move. This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff.”

In the near future, a footballer from Ukraine may make his debut for a new club, as Chelsea has more problems and suffers from injuries.
