Cristiano Ronaldo set to captain Saudi All-Star XI in friendly against PSG

Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the combined team of two of the best clubs in Saudi Arabia, Al-Nasr and Al-Hilal, as captain to a friendly against PSG.

Ahead of a friendly against Paris Saint-Germain in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo was confirmed as captain.

The news was confirmed in a tweet by the chairman of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority, which included a video of Cristiano receiving the captain’s armband.

At the moment, Ronaldo has not played a single game as part of his new club. A friendly match between the team of the two best clubs in the Saudi Arabian championship and PSG is scheduled for January 19, starting at 17:00 GMT.

Thursday’s match will be the first clash between Messi and Ronaldo since the Portuguese striker retired from European football and the first time Ronaldo has played against Messi in the Champions League since December 2020.
