Cristiano Ronaldo’s World Cup story ends in tears

Cristiano Ronaldo will not win a league title in what is likely to be his last appearance in football’s biggest tournament.

The footballer’s World Cup career came to an end on Saturday night when Portugal were eliminated from Morocco.

Qatar 2022 has always been meant to be Ronaldo’s last chance for World Cup glory.

The tournament got off to a good start for the Portuguese striker as Ronaldo scored a penalty in Portugal’s (3-2) win over Ghana in the first group match.

As you know, head coach Fernando Santos sent the Portuguese to the bench after Portugal’s victory over Switzerland with a score (6-1) in the 1/8 finals.

Ronaldo started again on the bench in the quarter-finals against Morocco before coming on as a substitute in the 51st minute.

His team has already lost. The player replaced midfielder Ruben Neves in the 51st minute.

But he failed to make a noticeable impact. Ronaldo touched the ball only 10 times and recorded only one shot, which was successfully reflected by the goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team Bono.

Ronaldo left the field in tears after the final whistle.
