Watch game overview

The first half, like many other games in this tournament, was chaotic and secretive, with neither side converting a few chances.

Time went into extra time, where Brazil took the lead in the 106th minute.

Neymar broke the deadlock by trading passes with Pedro and Paqueta before rounding the keeper to score and equal Pele’s Brazil goalscoring record of 77 goals.

It seemed that Croatia no longer had a chance to bounce back against such a strong team, but three minutes before the end of the match, substitutes Mislav Orsic and Bruno Petkovic managed to create an opportunity and score a goal.

In the shootout, Livakovic saved Rodrygo’s spot-kick while Marquinhos’s penalty hit the post to send the Brazilians crashing out of the tournament with Croatia winning 4-2.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Dominik Livakovic (Croatia).

The goalkeeper made several saves, depriving Neymar and Lucas Paqueta in the 90th minute of a dangerous moment.

Then Fred in extra time. And in the penalty shootout, Livakovic saved Rodrigo’s penalty.

Were Brazil unlucky?

As you know, the Croatian national team scored a goal with their only shot on target in 120 minutes, while Brazil scored 11 shots.

Croatia, under the leadership of head coach Zlatko Dalic, demonstrated quality football, showing good wrestling and tactics, thanks to which they achieved success.
