Erik ten Hag unaware of Jadon Sancho’s return to Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has suspended Jadon Sancho from training with the team’s first team.

The coach spoke about the decision to send Jadon Sancho to an individual training break and commented on his possible return.

Jadon Sancho was under-qualified for Manchester United’s training camp in Spain and the player will not feature in next week’s League Cup fourth round tie against Burnley.

Sancho missed four games for the club due to illness and his last game was on 22 November against Chelsea where the match ended (1-1).

The 23-year-old has taken a break from social media and is training with Dutch coaches recommended by Ten Hag in the Netherlands.

“We didn’t see him in the last games for United as he wasn’t in the right fitness state and he is now on an individual programme. We want him to finish that and hopefully see him back soon. We want to bring him back as quickly as possible but I can’t give a prognosis of when that will be.”
