France’s Karim Benzema retires from international football

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has announced his retirement from France after missing the 2022 World Cup due to injury.

As you know, Benzema was elected to the national team, but due to injury, the player could not help his team.

The Ballon d’Or winner left the World Cup prematurely and had to watch from the sidelines as his team reached the Final and lost to Argentina on penalties.

Karim Benzema has since taken to social media to apparently confirm that he is ending his international career.

I made the effort and the mistakes it took to be where I am today and I’m proud of it! I have written my story and ours is ending,” the post read.

Benzema’s success for France

Benzema played 41 matches for France in which he scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists. Now the striker will only focus on recovering from injury and returning to Real Madrid.
