Scaloni will continue as Argentina boss, insists AFA president

It became known that the president of the Argentine Football Association, Claudio Tapia, said that Lionel Scaloni will remain the head coach after winning the 2022 World Cup.

When did Scaloni take charge of the Argentina national team?

Scaloni initially joined the national team as interim boss in July 2018 before being awarded a permanent contract the following January.

Scaloni replaced Jorge Sampaoli after Argentina were eliminated from the 2018 World Cup after losing to France in the round of 16.

The manager’s current contract expires on December 31 and the manager has yet to sign an extension, but the head of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Tapia, has assured that an agreement has already been made.
