Kyrgios began his year with an unpromising performance in the men’s singles at the home Grand Slam. He was sacked by Daniil Medvedev in the second round, however Kyrgios, along with his current competitor Tanasi Kokkinakis, reached the men’s doubles final.
The duo managed to capture their first Grand Slam men’s doubles title at the Australian Open.
Since then, Kyrgios has achieved many successful results. The 27-year-old reached the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Masters tournament. He performed well at the ATP Houston, Stuttgart Open and Halle Open where he reached the semi-finals.
Kyrgios enjoyed success reaching his first ever Grand Slam singles final at Wimbledon and lost to three-time defending champion Novak Djokovic in four sets.
On hard courts in North America, the Australian improved his performance by claiming his first singles title of the season at the Citi Open. He also won two doubles titles, one with Thanasi Kokkinakis at the Atlanta Open and one with Jack Sock at the Citi Open.
Thanasi Kokkinakis has made a breakthrough this season. The 26-year-old tennis player started the year almost perfectly, performing in the semi-finals at Adelaide International 1.
He then won his first ATP title the following week at Adelaide International 2. At the Australian Open, he was defeated in the first round but won the doubles trophy alongside Nick Kyrgios.
Kokkinakis has struggled in the qualifiers for most of the ATP Tour tournaments and has performed poorly in the main draw.
However, they made it to the quarterfinals of the Geneva Open. In the ongoing on-court he won another doubles title with Kyrgios.

|Nick Kyrgios win 1.18
|Thanasi Kokkinakis win 4.86
Kyrgios, who is one of the favorites to win the entire tournament, will enter the long-awaited meeting as the main favorite.
Kyrgios regularly throws aces on his first serve and even uses a powerful second serve. The former world No. 13 does not like long rallies and often drops in level as the rally progresses.
Kokkinakis will have the advantage of knowing his opponent’s style of play inside out, growing up together on the junior tennis circuit and playing many doubles matches with him. He will bet on his first serve to earn free points.
Prediction for this meeting: Kiryos win in three sets.
