Van Dijk set for spell on sidelines due to hamstring injury

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk will be sidelined for some time after suffering a hamstring injury against Brentford.

The football player will miss at least two games of his team. 7 January FA Cup match against Wolves and their next Premier League game, a trip to Brighton on 14 January.

As you know, Liverpool lost to Brentford with a score of (1-3) in the English championship. Van Dijk was substituted 46 minutes into the match and the injury turned out to be more serious than initially thought, and no return date has been set yet.

For Liverpool, an injury to a main defender is a huge blow to the club as Liverpool’s defense has looked very poor this season. Over 17 rounds, the club conceded 22 goals in the Premier League.

Fans will hope that Van Dijk’s absence will not be too long. Good news for the English club is the possible appearance of Cody Gakpo, who has become a rookie of the club.

Players such as Roberto Firmino and James Milner, who were previously injured, will also be available.
